Class 6: The Rectus Abdominis

In this class we focus on the rectus abdominis (RA). The RA runs straight down the front-lower rib cage to the pubic bone. It is the most external of the core muscles, it is perhaps the most obsessed-upon core muscle, as it is associated with six-pack abs (even though technically speaking, they are a ten-pack). We target them last in postpartum yoga, and we need the whole core working together (the TA & obliques) to fire them properly. Take breaks if you need them, you can always come back too this class over & over again.
